About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Jordan Larsen and this is my blog.

I hail from the metropolis of Geraldine, MT (grand total = 230, graduating class size = 11). My family still lives on the farm/ranch we homesteaded over 100 years ago. I have an older brother, Vance, that is currently teaching in Denver, CO. We grew up participating in every sport, music opportunity, and club we could get our hands on. My 91-year-old grandparents still live in the original farm house, about a football field length away. I will always be a farm girl at heart!

A am double majoring in Film and Business Marketing (obviously). The film degree is done, now I'm just working to finish up my business classes. I hope to direct feature length films one day, then move into more of a producing role. Unknown by most people, MSU has a very good film school. It has been a fantastic fit, and I wouldn't change my experiences here for the world!

First trip to LA (May 2013)

I love everything about movies! I love the whole process from pre-production, to principle photography, to post production. I love watching and researching films, new and old. I actually just got back from the Sundance Film Festival, where I watched 9 feature films (including one world premier, They Came Together directed by David Wain, Staring Paul Rudd & Amy Poehler!) and 8 short films in less than 72 hours...it was a blast!

Last semester, I was the writer & director of the Senior Thesis film American Honey. While I have always loved movies, this process made me fall head over heels in a way I never thought possibly. I am hooked! I hope to get an internship in NYC or LA this summer, and climb the ladder of Show Biz from there.

I want this blog to be an opportunity for me to explore how consumer behavior is involved in the film industry. What movies do people want to see? Who are the target markets for the films I want to make? What route should I take to get my movies watched? The questions could go on and on.

Anyway, there is a bit about me and what I am all about. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post!

Cheers!
